At Portland Nannies we understand the high demand for quality childcare in Maine. Our experience, education and knowledge can provide you with the trustworthy, dependable childcare provider or nanny you want for your family.

Who Are Our Nannies?

They are between the ages of 18 and 70. Most are in their mid-20’s.

Most have had significant formal or informal experience working with children.

A large number of our candidates are college educated or have had child related training preparing them for work as caregivers.

Most are from Maine, but we do have applications submitted from all over the United States.

All have their own vehicles and a valid driver’s license.

All possess a genuine love and interest in children.

They all are willing to make a one-year commitment.

We only place a nanny if we'd feel comfortable having her take care of our own children. We actually reject about 50% of the nannies who apply based on their responses to interview questions, their references not being the best, and/or lack of knowledge pertaining to child development.
